Toronto - Menchie's

Continuing on with my eating binge topic, I checked out a few dessert places this week, too. Okay, maybe not a few. Maybe just one. One that I'd been to twice in a span of 4 days. Menchie's! I mean, really, it's frozen yogurt. Is that even still considered a dessert? It's more like frozen healthy food, isn't it?

Toronto - Ajisen Ramen

I went on a serious eating binge this week, and one of the places I tried was Ajisen Ramen (the location on Warden and Steeles). My boyfriend and I were killing time before watching a movie, and so we asked around for good spots and ended up there. Unfortunately, we were in such a rush that I barely had time to even think about what I was eating. So we went again tonight.

Toronto - SinoPino

Okay, I think it's finally time to do a review on SinoPino considering I eat there at least once a week.

Toronto - Ten-Ichi Japanese Cuisine

After weeks of bugging my boyfriend and complaining about his strict diet (that doesn't include sushi), he finally took me and his cousin to an all-you-can-eat sushi place. We went to Ten-Ichi on Sheppard because I didn't want to drive all the way to Markham for AYCE sushi - and also because Ten-Ichi offered AYCE sushi at lunch for $13.95, which saves time, money, and gas.

Calgary - Olive Chicken

Hey do you think it means they use olive oil or does is it mean "I love" Chicken HAAA!!!!!

One. Korean in Calgary
Welcome to my new segment, Korean in Calgary, where I will eat Korean food and tell you about it. Hopefully I will finish this series, unlike my west coast tour segment, which has been on the back burner for nearly a year.

Toronto - Goody's Diner

As if my burger addiction wasn't bad enough, my friend Louie invited me to Goody's Diner last week for lunch. Despite not knowing anything about this joint other than that it was only open on weekdays (although their restaurant hours sign stated otherwise), I was super excited to go. When we got there, it was around 4PM, and the place was empty. That didn't stop my excitement. I knew that around that time, most people would either have gone back to work, or were on their way home from work. So, I prepared myself for a delicious (and quiet, yay!) meal. I didn't see it at first - I was focused on the menu handed to me - but when my friend pointed out the "burger wall", my jaw dropped.

Calgary - Galaxie Diner

As I am a new food blogger, I wanted to start off with all the places I have been to, but instead I want to expose my city for the wealth of culinary culture it has and is still developing; Calgary can stand with the best, but still has a lot to learn in the culture that is food.

+1

So excited to have a new person join our food blog. Hopefully he will be posting more frequently than Nelson. Keep checking for his posts!

(Our high school trio has now been reunited via blogspot.)

Welcome to the team, Austin Ho aka ohnitsua!

Calgary - Design District Urban Tavern

Their cups are seriously jars.

Around these parts, food is usually on the expensive side. This is why I love going to pubs and bars. Not only are the prices kept low, the best foods in the world are served at pubs - BURGERS! The reason I love burgers so much is because it is very hard to screw up a burger; you can literally put anything on a burger, and burgers can be dressed up very nicely (bacon).

Calgary - Food Trucks!

My partner, Nelson (nello the yellow fellow), is taking way too long writing these blog posts, and I might have to fire him from the blog (half joking). So, instead of waiting for him to finally put some content up on the blog, I'm just going to go ahead and do it for him. While I was in Calgary last week, I went to a food truck event with Nelson and our friend, Austin. It was one of the attractions at some home and garden show at the BMO Centre, and while those kinds of shows usually interest me, I really only went for the food trucks.

iFood pt 4

I love seeing what other people have eaten, don't you?

Calgary - Overeasy Breakfast (OEB)

I used to go on and on about how amazing Cora's was, until several people told me that I was silly for being so crazy about Cora's because there are better options - specifically, OEB on Edmonton Trail. I would constantly see my friends' photos from OEB on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and I knew I had to make a trip there during my stay in Calgary.

Reading Week in Calgary.

I went home to Calgary for reading week, and all I've been doing is eating - seriously. I can't help it! I always see my friends checking in at the most intriguing places on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and I thought I should make the most of my time here by checking out the places they visit. I honestly can't even remember all of the places I've been to, because I've been to so many food spots! But, I'll try.

Toronto - The Pie Shack

My friend, Lora, always talked about The Pie Shack, and how it's SO good. We tried going once, in the summer, after Burger's Priest. First of all, having pie after a huge burger wasn't the best idea. Second, we got lost, anyway. Our second attempt was about a month ago, and as soon as we got there, Tim (owner) was closing up. Well, we finally tried again last week, and I was AMAZED. I'm not even a huge pie fanatic; I'll have a slice of pie if and when it's available, but I never really crave it.

Man, this is going to be a long one. I haven't done this in a while.

Toronto - Libretto (Danforth)

I've been meaning to go here for quite some time now, hoping it will be a good substitute for Calgary's UNA (which I love SO much!), and it's a very good contender. The decor was really cool, and it was pretty similar to my most favourite pizza place, UNA. I've read some reviews on it, and a lot of people suggested calling for reservations ahead of time since it's usually packed. It must have been a slow night, because it was pretty much empty, and it wouldn't have mattered if I called or not. Service was really good, and our waitress was super friendly.

Calgary - Los Compadres, the truck

Ever since I heard there would be a taco truck coming to Calgary, I wanted to eat them asap. As fortune would have it, Los Compadres came to a Cardel Place near me. I was amazed at the amount of choices available, for having the kitchen in a truck. This only complicated things because I've wanted to eat here for quite some time, for people that want to eat everything, they have a meal for you.
